Welcome back to winter at Voyageurs and our regular weekly reports! If there’s anyone you know who’d like to be added to our mailing list, please have them email voya_public_affairs@nps.gov
With cold weather predicted this coming weekend, the ice is definitely growing out on the lakes! Our staff are busy checking depths across Voyageurs to see when snowmobile trails can be staked and set.
Remember ice can be unpredictable. Even on the same lake and on the same day, it can vary drastically. Conditions often change faster than we can report them. Always confirm ice safety for yourself before you travel on it. Keep yourself and those exploring with you safe!
You can bookmark this webpage (Alerts & Conditions) to find weekly winter trail reports and find out which trails across the lakes are closed or open. Scroll to the end of the page for links to other regional trail reports.
