Introducing Claudine Arndt: Development and Communications Manager
Voyageurs Conservancy is excited to welcome Claudine Arndt to the Voyageurs Conservancy team as the Development and Communications Manager. Claudine has been a lifelong visitor and enthusiast of Voyageurs National Park. Family vacations growing up were spent on Lake Kabetogama, which fostered in her an overwhelming appreciation and reverence for the area. Today her family has a cabin on Lake Kabetogama, providing Claudine the opportunity to frequently connect to the park. Whether kayaking, fishing for walleye, hiking or admiring the awe-inspiring night skies, there is no place she would rather spend her time than Voyageurs National Park. She is thrilled to be joining Voyageurs Conservancy’s team and is eager to help nurture and grow our member community.
Since 2011, Claudine has worked for Minnesota Farmers Union (MFU), a grassroots farm organization that advocates for family farmers, ranchers and rural communities. As the Membership and Minnesota Cooks (local foods) Director for the organization, she was dedicated to building a cooperative and influential community of farmers and supporters driven to protect family farm agriculture. Claudine believes in the power of organizing people to facilitate positive action and is excited to apply her experience to Voyageurs Conservancy. In 2021, inspired by her connections with farmers, chefs and quality local food, as well as her love of writing and sharing stories, she authored The Farmer and the Chef: Farm Fresh Minnesota Recipes and Stories on behalf of MFU. She is also the co-editor of the quarterly local food magazine, Edible Minnesota.
In her free time, Claudine enjoys taking long walks with her husband Mike, spending time on Lake Kabetogama, reading, cooking simple local food dishes, trying her best to learn French, and losing herself in her unruly prairie gardens.
