Thank you, Delaney! 2025 Communications and Outreach Intern
This summer, the Conservancy welcomed Outreach and Communications Intern Delaney Claggett for a nine month internship filled with storytelling, events, and deepening connections to Voyageurs National Park. Currently a senior Environmental Studies major at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, Delaney also serves as President of the Student Environmental Alliance. Her leadership and academic focus reflect both her passion for stewardship and her drive to make a difference in conservation communication.
During her time with the Conservancy, Delaney played an important role in supporting different aspects of outreach. Her work included writing 50 Years, 50 Legacies blogs, organizing photo contest submissions, conducting interviews, and preparing supplies for various events. She also helped craft social media content, with an occasional silly critter photo to accompany her captions.
Whether she was sharing legacy stories as blogs, highlighting community photos, or supporting anniversary celebrations, she helped elevate the Conservancy’s efforts to connect people with the park’s history, conservation goals, and vibrant community.
Some highlights of Delaney's internship included participating in the Leave No Trace event, helping with Voyageurs 50th birthday celebrations, and visiting every Voyageurs National Park Visitor Center!
Delaney's connection to Voyageurs runs deep. Her family has a cabin on the Canadian side of Namakan Lake, and she has spent her summers in close proximity to the park for most of her life. That lifelong connection to the region gave her a deep appreciation for the park’s waterways, wildlife, and star-filled skies, all of which make the park a special place for locals and visitors alike. This relationship with the landscape brought an authentic passion and perspective to her work with the Conservancy.
Thank you, Delaney!
