The Rainy River: Recovery to Today

The third in a series of events focused on science and research in the Voyageurs area! The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is releasing its Rainy River water quality report, which reviews decades of international partnership and environmental regulations at work. A conduit between Rainy Lake and Lake of the Woods, the river forms the border between the United States and Canada.

Come hear the Rainy River story of recovery, which took a century of elbow grease on both sides of the border and effective environmental regulations to take a river from polluted to “good to excellent” water quality.
