Summer is here there are opportunities everywhere to capture the beauty of Voyageurs National Park! Join us for this month's Notes from the North Woods for a natural history tour of the unique landscape of Voyaguers National Park through landscape painting.
An eco-artist from Bangor, Maine, Ranger Mariah is at Voyageurs this summer to share the area's unique cultural and natural history through her interpretive programs and her paintings. Her inspiration comes from travels through Indigenous lands and her canvases come from past visitors and their litter. She has been an Arts in the Parks Volunteer at Guadalupe Mountains National Park, TX, and Artist in Residence and interpretive ranger at Denali, Zion, and Acadia national parks.
Participants interested in painting along can use whatever materials they have available. A pen and paper, a sharpie and a sticky note, crayons, markers, watercolors are all great options! Ranger Mariah's medium of choice is acrylic paints, so she will be using: primary paint colors and white, jar of water, wash cloth, paint brushes, and paper.
Please join us for this all-ages event to learn how art and parks come together to tell a story neither could tell on their own.

*An ASL Interpreter will be broadcasted in the Zoom meeting. If you are in need of interpretation, please join the meeting through Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82303230913
