Voyageurs National Park Cautions Visitors - Unsafe Ice Conditions

Voyageurs National Park staff strongly urges visitors to stay off the ice due to the inconsistent weather that is causing freezing and thawing conditions. These freeze-thaw conditions create an inconsistency in ice thickness and quality making ice travel hazardous and unsafe. Snowshoe and cross country ski loans at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center have stopped for the season.
