"Sky-Tinted Water" – Performance with the Rochester Symphony

  • Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall 30 Civic Center Drive Southeast Rochester, MN, 55904 United States (map)

Sky-Tinted Water by Marko Bajzer

Hear the music of the universe – from both near and far. Rochester native and composer, Marko Bajzer, joins Rochester Symphony to present new music celebrating the 50th anniversary of Voyageurs National Park. Sky-Tinted Water reflects the beauty of the natural landscape and cultural history of northern Minnesota. These earthly impressions set the stage for a voyage through the solar system with Holst’s The Planets – from the warlike thunder of Mars to the ethereal calm of Neptune. Paired with stunning video exploring the wonders of outer space, this special multimedia concert takes the imagination on a journey from the ground beneath to the stars above.

Voyageurs Conservancy staff will be on-site ahead of the performance to share park stories, Conservancy initiatives, and ways to get involved.

We invite you to join us:

  • 5:30 p.m: Cash bar Happy Hour – Take a moment to sip and share your connection to Voyageurs with us.

  • 6:30 p.m: Pre-concert talk with Marko and members of the orchestra

  • 7:30 p.m: Symphony performance
