Hike with a Geologist

Pack a picnic and hit the trails with local educator and geologist Chris Hemstad for a hike through the geologic formations of Voyageurs National Park. The day includes a short presentation on the park’s formation nearly 2.8 billion years ago, along with several brief walks to view examples of its most common geologic features.

Please plan to arrive in your own vehicle, as there will be a short drive from the visitor center to viewing locations and trailheads. We’ll also take a break for lunch along the way.
