Thank You for Celebrating 50 Years of Voyageurs National Park with Us!

We’re raising our canteens to everyone who joined us on Thursday, May 29 at Utepils Brewery for a truly special evening in honor of Minnesota’s national park. Thanks to your enthusiasm and support, we marked the 50th anniversary of Voyageurs National Park with live music, hands-on nature activities, a silent auction, and of course – a delicious anniversary brew!

This celebration wasn’t just a party, it was a powerful gathering of community, conservation, and shared love for Minnesota’s National Park. Your presence helped raise awareness and vital funds to support the next 50 years of this incredible place.

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary

Event Highlights

National Park Passport: Get your park passport stamped at interactive stations sharing information about the park’s wildlife, waterways, and dark skies. The Voyageurs mobile classroom will also be on-site, bringing Minnesota’s national park to the heart of the Twin Cities!

Live Music – Enjoy a bonfire and outdoor music with a performance from bluegrass band, the Roe Family Singers (6-8 PM)

Food and Drink – Grab a meal from local food trucks, enjoy a slice of birthday cake, and raise a glass to Voyageurs National Park with craft brews from Utepils. A portion of beer sales goes back to support your park!

Family-Friendly Activities – Young adventurers can take part in Junior Ranger activities, nature-based crafts, and other kid-friendly experiences designed to inspire the next generation of park lovers.

Silent Auction & Door Prizes – Throughout the night, guests will have the chance to enter the raffle, bid on silent auction items, and participate in fundraising opportunities that support the future of Voyageurs. Every contribution helps protect this special place for generations to come.

Join Us Any Time Between 4:00-8:00 PM

Gather with fellow park supporters, enjoy birthday cake, and a special Voyageurs brew, bid on silent auction items, and participate in family-friendly nature and art activities. Write a postcard to a park ranger or a politician to support our parks. Two food trucks will have food for purchase throughout the evening and a portion of every pint for the park sold will benefit Voyageurs Conservancy.

5:30 PM

In Friends of the Park reception room, hear brief remarks from Christina Hausman Rhode, Conservancy executive director - learn about projects at
Voyageurs National park and discuss challenges our parks are facing.

6:00 PM

Enjoy a bonfire and live music outdoors with a performance from bluegrass band, the Roe Family Singers.

8:00 PM

Silent auction and raffle close.

Event Registration

This event is free but advanced registration is greatly appreciated!

A limited quantity of $50 tickets offers catered food, one beverage/beer, and a 50th anniversary stainless steel pint. There will be food trucks on site for folks who do not want to purchase a catered ticket.

The street address of Utepils brewing is 225 Thomas Ave N #700, Minneapolis, MN 55405. You can get there easily via public transportation, bike, or car.
Public Transportation: The nearest bus stop is at Penn Ave N & Glenwood Ave, which is 0.4 miles from the brewery. The nearest Light Rail station is Olson & Penn Station, which is 0.7 miles away.
Bike: Utepils is very accessible from bike trails, including the Luce Line Trail, Cedar Lake Parkway, and Theodore Wirth Park, among others. There are also bike racks for easy parking on site.
Car: Utepils in the Bryn-Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis, between I-394 and Hwy 55. There is parking on-site, with additional overflow parking and on-street parking options available just a short walk away.
