From the National Park Service, 7/7/08:

Voyageurs National Park Offers “Leaving No Trace”– Friday, July 11

Camp, hike, fish or swim?  Recreation is on the rise and it’s important for those entering natural spaces to be aware of the impacts they have on the landscape. Join Park Naturalist Samantha Palm for a presentation with hands-on techniques on Leave No Trace ethics.  Learn to minimize the impact on the landscape and still enjoy the outdoors.

Evening programs are offered every Friday evening during the summer at the historic Woodenfrog State Forest Campground Refectory near Lake Kabetogama from 7:00 – 8:0o pm.  Programs are sponsored by the Friends of Voyageurs National Park. No fee or registration is required to attend.  Visit www.nps.gov/voya for more information, or contact Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center at 218-875-2111 or Rainy Lake Visitor Center at 218-286-5258 for more information.
