Namakan Lake Named Great Fishing Destination

Ten more great fishing destinations that are close to home

9. Namakan Lake, near town of Crane Lake — A recently imposed walleye slot limit (17- to 28-inch protected) should help this beautiful border lake become an even better walleye fishery. The Minnesota side of this lake is part of Voyageurs National Park and offers excellent boat-camping campsites. Access is through Crane Lake or the Ash River Trail.
