Voyageurs Announces Expanded Summer Activities

Voyageurs National Park is now offering an expanded schedule of summer boat tours, junior ranger activities, canoe trips, and more. Call 218-286-5258 for more information about Rainy Lake programs, or call 218-875-2111 for more information about programs near Kabetogama Lake and Ash River. Guided boat tours departing from the Rainy Lake and Kabetogama Lake Visitor Centers are available. Tours vary in length from 1 ½ to 5 ½ hours, and range in price from $15 – $35 per adult, and $10 – $20 per child. Call 1-888-381-2873 to make a reservation. The park offers a variety of other activities in addition to the boat tours. The programs listed below are offered free of charge now through August 18. Junior Ranger Programs (free):

• Kids are invited to explore the natural world with a park guide at the Woodenfrog State Forest Beach near Kabetogama Lake (Saturday & Sunday 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.)
• NEW! How do you hide a moose? Kids learn about camouflage on the 1^st and 3^rd Thursday of the month at the Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
• NEW! Snake Safari ~ do we have snakes at Voyageurs? Find out on the 2^nd & 4^th Thursday of the month at the Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
• Rainy Lake Junior Rangers explore the park from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Tuesdays, July 3, July 17, and August 14.

Guided Canoe Trips (free):

• Afternoon Canoe on Black Bay: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday from 2 – 4 p.m.
• Morning Canoe on Kabetogama Lake at the Woodenfrog Launch Ramp: Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Discovery Walks (free):

• Rainy Lake Visitor Center Discovery Walk with a Park Guide: Sunday – 11:00 a.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – 1:00 p.m.
• Beaver Pond Discovery Walk near the Ash River Visitor Center: Sundays from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Friday Evening Programs (free):

• Join us at the historic Woodenfrog State Forest Campground Refectory building for a special evening program. A new program is offered every Friday from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
